Each issue, we put the spotlight on a particular subject. Whenever possible, we try to illustrate the articles with pieces that are available for purchase. Of course, in the case of some topics, this is not always possible. Interested in a piece that isn’t shown in this issue’s Shop in Your Slippers pages? Ask us...we’re just a click away. We may have simply run out of room |

and it’s always worth the chance...you just never know! Also, if you tell us that you’re looking
for something, we go into hyper-search mode!
Payment by PayPal, personal check, etc. is welcome and, as well, major credit cards can be used through PayPal. We also have a very liberal layaway policy. An antique is often a one-of-a-kind ...if the right piece is uncovered just when you need tires, we understand...believe me, there’s nothing worse than having to answer "No, I’m sorry" to "Do you still have…?" You’ll notice that prices are not shown; this is done to insure our customers’ privacy...we sell a lot of pieces as gifts or to other dealers and interior designers. It's also a way to encourage communication. More often than not, all of the wonderful characteristics of a piece can’t be squeezed into the description area and besides, do you really want everyone to know what you paid for something? If you have any questions or need a larger photograph, please remember that we’re just a click away! Ready?...slippers on? Let’s go shopping! The story of Puss in Boots comes to us from a seventeenth century French writer, Charles Perrault (1628-1703). In 1697, his book, Histoires ou Contes du Temps Passé avec des Moralities was published. The book's subtitle is Contes de Ma Mère l'Oye better known as Tales of Mother Goose.
The moral of the tale is that ingenuity can take one farther than imagined if one applies oneself. The story has the miller's son gaining his fortune through the cleverness of the cat. And our guy, though he is in a definitely well-loved state, remains very clever indeed. He
measures 18 inches high. |
